Over 10,000 killed within three days.

Pools of blood around a hospital so large they could be seen from space.

An absolute nightmare.
“Individuals on the ground sent a message that reached us Monday morning that 1,200 were dead,” Nathaniel Raymond, the lab’s executive director, said. “By that evening, they said 10,000. By Tuesday, we couldn’t reach them anymore. We assume our ground contacts are dead.”

As usual for Jack Watling, this is a fabulously data & evidence-rich paper on what the Ukrainian battlefield looks like today. A pivotal role for drones & ground robots—but also for tanks, armour & artillery, each coming into its own at different moments in an assault www.rusi.org/explore-our-...

We’re currently spending an entire military aid package to Ukraine’s worth of money on a fucking ballroom.
Trump raises the price of the ballroom to $350 million

(It changed from $200 million, then $300 million, now $350 million within the course of a few days)

🚨BIG changes happening -- ICE leadership is being purged tonight. The old guard, which prioritized targeted enforcement operations aimed at people with criminal records, is being replaced with Border Patrol and Gregory Bovino's "Midway Blitz" style.

Think things are bad now? It'll get worse.

Their track record on identifying messages and slogans etched onto bullets is pretty poor, so this should be taken with an ocean full of salt.
FBI official: "What I can share with you is that early evidence we're seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature. Again, this is just the most recently example of this type of attack."

CAS is no longer about platforms but TTPs; a well-trained JTAC is more important than the platform characteristics. The A-10 debate is nonsense.
there's been a multi-day meltdown over on the everything app on F-35 vs A-10 and this is an accurate distillation of the whole stupid thing

We could have been providing military aid to Ukraine. We could have been building our partnerships in the Pacific. We could have strengthened Europe’s defense industrial base. We could have helped build state capacity in South America.

What a fucking disaster this has all been.
