Rosie: who exactly will be making sacrifices?

Carney: the public service

Rosie: so you’re saying government will be sacrificing, not members of the public.

Ah yes, the public service famously made up of non-members-of-the-public. Brilliant stuff, Rosie.

To be blunt: if you are doing anything at all right now to reduce your risk of infection from SARS-CoV-2, you're being smart. As a result of the current high prevalence of flu, masking is back in the media. Ignore anything negative said about it. Political nonsense is irrelevant.

Thinking tonight of all the people who, like me, find this the heaviest time of year. The pressure to satisfy expectations - to feel what we’re supposed to feel - is often unbearable. Add in elderly family members, struggling friends and a world gone horrifically mad, it’s hard to be jolly.

"What's behind the pullback on policy and why is Canadian progress on tackling climate change so slow? Put simply, it’s because climate action threatens the profits of the fossil-fuel industry, and they’ve spent the past 50 years doing everything they can to prevent it."
Fossil-fuel propaganda is stalling climate action. Here’s what we can do about it.
New research highlights the role of fossil-fuel industry propaganda and suggests strategies to tackle false narratives about fossil fuels.

A couple of the authors on the sketchy N95 vs medical mask trial just quietly released data showing that the large majority of COVID transmission in shared hospital rooms is airborne and preventable with good ventilation.

They've been sitting on it since 2022, while people died unnecessarily.

This appalling treatment cannot be met by mushy words that ultimately amount to capitulation.
