It's been pretty clear for a while that the Senate Dem Caucus makes decisions based on how smoothly they'd like their jobs to go - from being home on Valentine's Day to keeping Schumer in leadership so nobody else has to eat shit - and it's not clear to me what it would take to break that habit.

Governor Mills could have signed LD 1971 into law last June. Instead, she delayed until a few weeks ago and it won’t be enforced for months.

She could have protected Mainers against ICE. But she didn’t.

I really can’t exaggerate how completely weird this move in silver is. Markets just don’t go parabolic for months at a time. Speaks to the fundamental cause of this move in silver: momentum and nobody with a balance sheet to take the other side of the move.

With the murder of Matteotti in June 1924, those conservatives and liberals who had collected around Fascism prior to the March on Rome began to fall away. At the same time, there was a sudden erosion of equity values. Apprehension grew among the propertied classes—many withdrew their support—and the opposition press arrayed itself against the government. There were large-scale defections—particularly among the business and financial communities—together with a substantial number from the Fascist syndicates. To add to the mounting difficulties, the formal political opposition “seceded” from parliament in moral outrage— and sought to mobilize the public as well as the Crown against the government. The entire system was threatened. As the year drew to its close, it became apparent that neither the monarchy nor the military were steadfast in their support of the Fascist government. The hemorrhaging of membership among the Fascist syndicates continued. It became increasingly evident that either Mussolini would have to surrender the government or embark on an alternative that could promise more control over every aspect of domestic politics. Mussolini chose the second alternative.

This quasi false pacifism disgusts me. There is nothing Christian about rewarding aggression or teaching the wicked that chaos buys concessions. This bitch made version of Christianity is not one I subscribe to. But it’s no wonder why it took hundreds of years from flash to bang for us to get angry enough to launch a crusade. TLDR, this guy is weak. And I respond viscerally with disgust to people who lose their nerve. This is doubly true for those who hide behind Christianity as if it’s an excuse to be a perma-bitch. People who will turn the other cheek into oblivion. Completely missing the point in the process. Maybe I’ve got one wing in the fire. Whatever. I’m not going to live a life sitting idly by while hysterical ideologues take over my country. If I go to hell trying to stop earth from becoming one, so be it.
