This is stupid. Its the job losses, fear of more job losses and low pay.

You can force people back to the office 5 days a week and just make them miserable by having to pay for and endure more commute time.
But they still won't be able to afford to buy lunch when they're there.

It just makes you feel hopeless. Not all politicians lie, just some.
“She (Nicola Willis) has no plan, she's saying other plans don't meet with her satisfaction. All she can do is either slash public services, slash spending on hospital and public services, or cut public services in future years," MacCulloch said.
Nicola Willis rejects accusations she is doing nothing for a 'tanking' economy
"I don't think there's a single New Zealander that could do a better job than Nicola Willis," the Prime Minister says.

But you can earn as much additional income as you like and still receive the pension?

If we capped earning at $106 would that a) disincentivise work, or b) disincentivise pension uptake?

I dont understand how its possible to track this for one and not the other

More households maxing out accommodation supplement
Data provided to RNZ under the Official Information Act shows a higher number and proportion of people receiving the accommodation supplement are now receiving the maximum possible.

"Could it be Jessica Rose instead though? She’s running alongside Labour’s Waitākere incumbent Shane Henderson, who’s long been the loudest pro-housing voice on council. Her platform aligns with the Greens, with a focus on encouraging alternative transport and protecting the environment."

#BusNews: Why worry about parking, petrol or traffic when the bus is free? On Monday 22 September 2025, Taranaki residents are invited to celebrate World Car Free Day by leaving the car at home and hopping on board.

Cr Turner now asking how we get rid of increased housing capacity. Complaining about Glen Eden housing built _under current rules_ cos landlords are leaving houses empty. Cr Hills heroically trying to explain to him PC78 is the default & the new plan actually decreases density in much of Glen Eden.

What I find fascinating about this chart is that people voted for this government because they were unhappy about the direction of Labour government, but at no time since the election have the majority thought this government is doing a good job #nzpol
Do you think maybe when Nats said back on track they meant the wrong track?

Its going to hit. Often and unpleasantly, we need to be prepared to act when it does.

Abundant community space and retail business, achieved by regulating scarcity of cars.
One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.

Say no to seabed mining.
Say no to bottom trawling.
Say no to further destruction of our environment.
TTR's seabed mining is going to be devastating here, yet it's not getting anywhere near the traction that Bream Bay is getting.
This is Māui dolphin and blue pygmy whale territory 😥
New Zealanders electricity bills are already high. When Luxon blocks offshore wind, by fast tracking seabed mining in the same place, he is driving electricity prices higher, while blocking new low emissions generation. www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...
