There's just no incentive to give up a 100k plus a year job when getting the pension. And no trigger to delay a pension for someone earning a generous amount already. That bit feels out of whack.

And if we're interested in tradition? Well bicycles for transport, victory gardens, smaller houses, and make to order, are all old technology that could see to that need for nostalgia.
