80 years ago today, former college and professional US football stars serving with Marine Corps divisions occupying Nagasaki, Japan, played the “Atomic Bowl” (Nagasaki Bears vs. Isahaya Tigers) before a 2,000-plus crowd on the radiated ruins of a high school where hundreds of students were killed.
