Oh, splendid. An actual techbro star chamber. Amazing how the bad can always get much worse. Thiel, Zuck, Bezos: all those guys are f’ing lizards in skinsuits, and those are the ones we get to see

I’m not gonna walk away from my mortgage until the big rip levels everything west of I5. Really not getting the problem here.

I think this is gratuitous, because I think MAGA is going to run out of steam before we all get to shooting each other. They’re too incompetent to succeed.
That said, if I wasn’t already a Coloradan with a stocked gun safe, I’d be at a good gun shop, figuring it out.

More liberals, people of color and LGBTQ Americans say they're buying guns out of fear
The image of gun ownership in America has been white, rural and Republican, but that's been changing as more liberals and minorities have been buying guns, especially after the 2024 election.

Yes. Dems boxing Queensberry rules while the GOP kick them in the balls and curb stomp them. We are in an existential scrap with end-of-nature fascism. Dirty is fine. Make the tent bigger. Progressive, centrist, moderate, whatever. Like Sen. Slotkin says: “just win.”
Sarah Longwell: "Democrats, to their credit...are fighting back now...One of the troubles with democracy world is nobody wants to play Constitutional hardball. You want to say 'No, we shouldn't redistrict.'...I would never argue this in this moment."

That’s a pretty low-key byline for what’s happening: the United States military is wasting foreign nationals on Trump‘s say–so. The dog waggery is billboard-obvious, and American Senators are sitting on their thumbs while we’re war-criming

Interesting that the toad popping out of a hole in the current Epstein document release is Michael Wolff. As Haberman floridly demonstrated in Trump Shitshow 1, journalists that sidle up and snuggle with merciless, wicked people get infected with the stink.

So #Altman wants to displace half of the American white-collar workforce, with zero prospects to replace their jobs. OpenAI lost $12 billion in Q3 with no good non-porn ideas for revenue in sight. #machinegod is an ugly boondoggle. Until it what, solves climate collapse? Which it is accelerating?

But no
pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes

The 1/6 insurrection/Trump get-out-of-jail free card was a sick anomaly: there is no free pass in America.
ICE is off the chain now, but that will end. And there is a long train of lawsuits to follow for thugs in masks and riot gear and the malignant MAGA freaks that instruct them to show no mercy.

The decoder for isolationist populism is that ignorant stupid is as stupid does, mate/(y’all)
The thing to understand about this is that this catastrophe in the UK has redounded to the political benefit of the very same people and political movement that pushed for it! Extremely perverse.
I wonder if the United States can learn anything from the last time a major industrialized country decided to isolate itself from the rest of the world?

Almost a decade after the Brexit vote, GDP in the UK is around 6-8% lower relative to peer countries. (Source: www.nber.org/papers/w34459)

Good morning to these future governors!

Counterintuitive, but very hopeful
really important element of this basically total victory is that it puts the fear of god in republican incumbents and may bring the redistricting push to a total halt

This is not sustainable.
Last night, the National Guard chased children who were out enjoying Halloween in Navy Yard.

There is no valid reason for armed soldiers to terrorize children like this. End Trump’s occupation of DC. National Guard out NOW.
November 1, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Absolutely not sustainable, especially given Nazi Miller/Noem’s mandate to triple arrests and deportations and projected deployments. It’s going to get much worse, and some ICE bastards will snap and martyr some Americans. Then we will see. We are citizens, we will not submit, and we outnumber them.

starving over 40 million people right before major holidays + massively upping healthcare costs does strike me as a rather bold move this early in the authoritarian consolidation game for any given fascist regime, but I guess we’ll see what happens
