My new favorite arcane DC church fact: there is a shrine dedicated to Blessed Karl of Austria at St Mary, Mother of God Catholic Church, and the church celebrates his feast day every year on October 21st with a special mass.

This is an opportune moment to call attention to the article in Proceedings I wrote on this very subject! I hope the Navy takes up the idea. www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2...

Funny how the superstructure of the proposed design for the Japanese ASEV (aka cruiser) resembles the “Pagoda Masts” of 1930s/40s IJN battleships.

Breaking news: In a message to Norway’s prime minister, President Donald Trump linked his insistence on taking over Greenland to his grievance over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize — adding a new twist to Trump’s stoking of a trade war.

This is a disturbing article. The members of the DSA International Committee are dupes who don't realize they are the targets of a sustained influence campaign by the CCP. Also, they betray those on the left who are intellectually honest (e.g., New Bloom Magazine). www.newsweek.com/mamdani-chin...

Apparently, the only folks fighting in a war over #Taiwan are the #PRC and the #US. Taiwan is not accounted for. And the US is slinging munitions from #Japan and the #Philippines, yet neither of those MDT allies is participating in this war.

This is a great political ad!
After decades of service to our country, a career that started as a Navy pilot and finished as a three star admiral, I was removed from my position without cause.

I still have more to give, more to fight for, more work to do — and I am not done serving.

I'm gonna ackshually this, because ackshually in the last century the US has defended dozens of countries from foreign aggression (both passively and actively), and within living memory it's a huge change that the US is trying to steal land unprovoked and blow up our closest alliance.
The willful historical illiteracy among pundits about American imperialism is still shocking, no matter how predictable.

I have driven warships through East China Sea fishing fleets. They absolutely can be used to disrupt freedom of navigation. I’ve had “fishing vessels” intentionally drive at my ship with the intention to collide (CBDR). This person has no idea what they’re talking about.
If you want to know what level of hysterical delusion US liberal imperialists are on, take a look at this: Chinese fishing boats *could be used* to disrupt American Navy movements in the South China Sea. It does not get any dumber than this. NYT China desk one of the worst around.
