Victory! I successfully roasted a chicken! I didn’t do the best trussing job, and the wings popped out during cooking so I didn’t tuck those under properly, but that aside, the chicken tasted amazing! I will definitely be doing this again.

I’m almost a month out of chemo and I cannot believe how good I feel! I have the energy I had when I was 25, albeit for a short time, but that’s improving every day. I can’t believe I felt so bad for so long and thought it was just getting older, or depression, or a hangover. Trust your body, folks!

I’m so excited to be food posting again!! Tonight I am making seared filet mignon, sweet potato rounds with goat cheese and herbs, and garlic butter green beans. Just gotta wait for the dishwasher to finish and release all of my cutting boards. The eternal struggle.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

The biggest tell that someone is a dullard is having no favorite bands or movies or some form of entertainment. It's how you know those "grindset" types are the dumbest fucks on the planet. They have no interests. They are literally the NPCs they bitch about. You're a cog in the shit machine

I am committed. My first roast chicken is happening tomorrow. This feels like exposure therapy lol. I used to be really squeamish about raw meat, especially if it closely resembled the living animal. As a kid, I refused to eat rotisserie chicken cause it upset me. I’m mostly over it, but not fully
I figured it out! And I’m taking an opportunity to learn a very basic kitchen skill that I do not possess. I have never roasted a whole chicken before. Weird! I know! I cook for two so I usually buy parts, but there’s a first time for everything
I haven’t made a full meal plan in almost a year. Who knew that was a skill that could get rusty? How is this a struggle? It used to take me no time at all!
