Heartbreaking and horrifying to go to bed reading about the mass shooting at Brown University and wake up to read about the mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach. Thinking of the victims, their loved ones, and those affected by the hate that drove these attacks.

Super loved making this into a 1.5 hour commute to go work retail today. Delightful.

(I will say that my customers were actually amazing, lots of wry sympathetic joking and mutual encouragement. Sincerely appreciated the people today.)
A> when subway is closed you really see how much work it does. Sardine buses. Imagine everyone in cars.
B> it’s bananas the TTC scheduled TWO separate downtown subway closures the 2nd weekend before Xmas. Busiest time. If not emergency why not wait till January doldrums? Punishing organization.

We're 80% of the way to our goal! Let's keep this going!

Remember, all proceeds go to PATHA to support their court challenge against the puberty blocker ban. In exchange, you get some amazing TTRPGs from some awesome designers!

Let's get to that goal and help trans kids: itch.io/b/3421/ban-t...

“I cannot afford to get sick.”

Doing a Tom Hanks is about planning. Identify high-risk moments. Reduce exposure. Protect the events you don’t want to miss.

Vaccinations work. Masks work. Preventing inhalation of viruses works.

I adored Long Live Evil AND I somehow managed to miss that it was a book one until I got the ending and had to wail and gnash my teeth about it. Excited to see what's next!
Truly thrilled to unleash the cover of All Hail Chaos.

Publishing 12 May 2026, dive into the wicked, unmissable sequel to the No. 1 Sunday Times bestselling Long Live Evil. #booksky

This is embarrassing.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) paid $18 million for a chatbot named Charlie, which the auditor general reported gave her team the wrong answer 66% of the time.

The chatbot's responses were found to be brief and lacking context, with only 2 out of 6 questions answered accurately.

Please stay home if you’re feeling sick.

If you absolutely can’t stay home, wear a mask.

There are people who can’t afford to get sick. People without paid time off, people who are disabled or immune compromised, people who are caregivers.

Well now, would you look at that? A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

Reviews.

Reviews are free AND they are a gift to authors that can keep on giving (i.e., exposure, marketing, algo boosts, etc.)

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!

Okay, I acknowledge that this is a picky language thing, but: almost every time you are tempted to write the word "praises" as a plural, the word you want is "praise." This is a slightly weird one because we do have the phrase "sang his/her praises," but we don't usually add an s to make it plural!

"Write! The written letter endures!" Scribal wit at the start of financial records for London bridge in 1424. Cleverly, the scribe created the letter 'S' by folding a speech scroll, so the form of the letter conveys the meaning of the conventional proverb, "speech is fleeting but writing endures."
