#Cyberpunk #TTRPG this evening involved a big lore dump and a lot of planning and prep for next session when it will all kick off, but also the BBEG potentially coining a name for the party at long last, in session 31 - The Rogue Assets.

The BBC is so much more than its news output. Do people who want it defunded realise what they're going to lose? TV drama, radio comedy, so much educational kids content!

Controversial take, perhaps, but for all the political interfering and all its faults, the BBC is a positive institution. Like the NHS, it's a remnant of socialism in an increasingly capitalist hellscape. This is why the right on both sides of the pond are coming for it. It needs support.

It kinda sucks that, ever since a bunch of clout chasers tried to cancel Critical Role by claiming their Indiana Jones-inspired opening titles were supporting colonialism, they've been too scared to do anything fun with the opening credits.

Friend pointed out that when the dot-com bubble burst, the internet didn't go away. All these useless AI features will be enshittifying everything forever now.

A different friend offered consolidation by pointing out that at least a lot of rich people will be fucked over when the AI bubble bursts.

"Are there even any-" it doesn't matter. Banning the few trans athletes isn't the point. The point, from Trump's ban on trans people in government to Britain's bathroom ban to Newsom's sports ban, is to make sure everyone knows trans women are OTHER and to act accordingly to us in their daily lives.

Wait do I have it correct that Joyce Carol Oates said Musk was a shell of a man with no joy in his life and he totally saw it and said "No I'm not" and now he's searching the titles of different movies he likes and replying "great movie"

Literally searching for posts recommending movies to claim he's seen...
Joyce Carol Oates owned Elon so hard he's spent the last day posting about movies he hasn't seen in 15 years

Sounds like AI is finally being accurate for once, to me...
Google Gemini doesn’t appear to be doing too well:

‘"I am a disgrace to this planet. I am a disgrace to this universe. I am a disgrace to all universes . . . I am a disgrace to all possible and impossible universes and all that is not a universe," the bot continued.’
Google says it's working on a fix for Gemini's self-loathing 'I am a failure' comments
Google Gemini users said the bot is sharing self-loathing messages while attempting to solve tasks, including "I am a disgrace to this universe."

When you break a story exposing someone for a crime, you have to give them the right to reply, to defend themselves. You do not need to also expose someone else for a similar crime so it's "fair". This is Farage's mates setting up a straw man documentary to justify suppressing the truth.
Michael Prescott was ‘“shocked” that after an hour-long Panorama documentary dealing with Trump and the January 6 insurgency, there was no “similar, balancing” programme about Kamala Harris.’

More read about the machinations between the BBC resignations, the more worrying it becomes
The departure of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness means the BBC is leaderless when it needs leadership more than ever. Where are the people at the head of the BBC standing up for it?

Oh yeah, remember how she incited an insurrection where violent criminals rioted at the Capitol?

We owe no balance to US politics. There is no both sides here.

The main reason the left is losing is that the right has declared war and we're just trying to get on with our lives. It's a war of attrition and if you're not willing to fight, you lose.

Art is emotion through expression. AI does not think and it cannot feel. It is a program designed to scrounge the internet to pass things off as its own. All the while stealing jobs from real artists and soaking up drinking water.

Wife lost her purse and one of her friends messaged her to say someone had found it and posted on Facebook. Had to reactivate my FB to read it, which reactivated my IG. Can't be bothered to delete them again. Seems very little point trying to be anonymous on here now.

Every time I hear about It Welcome To Derry, I momentarily think it's something to do with Chris O'Dowd's character in The IT Crowd and I don't want to think about Chris O'Dowd or The IT Crowd.

I fear del Toro was so fixated on making the definitive Frankenstein that he forgot to do anything vaguely original. It's all very well done, but other than giving Elizabeth monster fucking agency, there's not a thing here that's new.
