#Cyberpunk #TTRPG this evening involved a big lore dump and a lot of planning and prep for next session when it will all kick off, but also the BBEG potentially coining a name for the party at long last, in session 31 - The Rogue Assets.

If you're feeling down, because... well, you know... I can heartily recommend getting drunk on Fireball and watching Monster Factory. Laughing until you cry is good medicine.

Right, now, I'm honestly more interested in this than a PS6.
Valve is making a console. The Steam Machine, a sleek box with the guts of a mid-range PC that runs SteamOS, will arrive in early 2026. Prices TBD, but unlike the failed Steam Machine initiative from a decade ago, this is Valve's own device. Big news www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

If the democrats crossed the line to approve Trump's bill purely to get the last person sworn in to release proof he was an Epstein client, then those guys will go down in history as the real-life Inglorious Bastards...

None of this was ever about Online Safety, not about protecting kids. It was all about control and surveilance.

And if you think that sounds a bit too "tin foil hat conspiracy theory", well, you might want to rethink your perspective.
The British government admits it is now monitoring VPNs use by UK residents. Regulator Ofcom has contracted with an AI-powered surveillance service to detect the number of citizens using VPNs to evade the Online Safety Act.

The UK tech minister has said a VPN ban is on the table.

At this stage of things I would rather back a party that is going to try and radically change things for the better even if that's a struggle.

To quote a favourite line from Blake's 7

"If they are going to kill us, let's at least make it difficult for them"
And today it's the turn of The Times to try and patronise us all.

Every single day the right wing establishment tries to close ranks.

And every day we are growing.

Yes. Loved the show, loved the movie.

But, erm, Alice is dead... Maybe they'll go for a hallucination/ghost style thing.
Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson are reuniting as detective John Luther and his serial killer paramour Alice Morgan for a new Luther movie at Netflix.

Jamie Payne will direct from a script by franchise creator Neil Cross.

The BBC is so much more than its news output. Do people who want it defunded realise what they're going to lose? TV drama, radio comedy, so much educational kids content!

Controversial take, perhaps, but for all the political interfering and all its faults, the BBC is a positive institution. Like the NHS, it's a remnant of socialism in an increasingly capitalist hellscape. This is why the right on both sides of the pond are coming for it. It needs support.

It kinda sucks that, ever since a bunch of clout chasers tried to cancel Critical Role by claiming their Indiana Jones-inspired opening titles were supporting colonialism, they've been too scared to do anything fun with the opening credits.

Friend pointed out that when the dot-com bubble burst, the internet didn't go away. All these useless AI features will be enshittifying everything forever now.

A different friend offered consolidation by pointing out that at least a lot of rich people will be fucked over when the AI bubble bursts.
