Late to reading this, but it's a fabulous breakdown of Trump vs the BBC.
NEW

A close look at Trump's $1 billion claim against the BBC

The litigation letter is weak, but his underlying practical position is not weak

It's real, and it's mind-blowing.

A complete lack of awareness and a national embarrassment.
Just some British patriots in Benidorm, taking over a street in Spain to shout in their own language about unwanted foreigners. It’s a blessing that they are too thick to understand irony.

To knit together two stories: through intimidation, litigation & extortion, Trump is clearly trying to create a media ecosystem where nobody asks him about Epstein - or indeed anything discomfiting. It is appalling to see so many UK media individuals & institutions aiding & abetting his corruption.

That final point is absolutely crucial.
The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

Nigel Farage said their flagship council in Kent would be a "shop window" for how they would run the country.

Just months after taking over they're now set to slash multiple council committees as they struggle to fill posts after sacking nine of their own councillors

Reform on 350 seats, a 60 overall majority, even though 70% of us didn’t vote for them. We can hope Reform will fail or tactical voting will help but is this a risk we want to take? Does anyone still support our ridiculous, unfair voting system. Please say if you do, I’m interested to know why.

Could we eat dinosaur meat?

And I don't mean chicken or turkey. But T. rex or Brontosaurus!

My friends @iflscience.com asked me this fun question, and here's what I think:

I think most normal people would agree it's sadistic for armed men to barge into a daycare and arrest a teacher.

Even if she is an illegal immigrant (which she's not).

The children are so traumatized that the daycare is closed for the week.

The Nanotyrannus debate has gotten heated at times. But what I truly respect about (most of) the people involved is that we've kept an open mind, tried to follow the evidence.

Here's what Thomas Carr and I wrote in our 2016 tyrannosaur phylogeny paper. This truly has been our ethos all along.

Nanotyrannus is real.

For years I’ve considered many mid-sized gracile tyrannosaurs to be juvenile T. rex.

But I was wrong. This stunning new skeleton of a mature long-armed small tyrannosaur is clearly a different species.

Isn’t science fun?!

Today I asked the Prime Minister whether he would back an investigation.
