All anti-mask laws—even those with so called “medical exceptions”—stigmatize mask-wearing.

Fewer people wearing masks increases the spread of infectious diseases.

No matter how lawmakers try to spin it, any law that criminalizes wearing a mask endangers public health. Period.

Hey #covidcautious Bluesky folks, does anyone have an information about the efficacy of using temporary tattoos on an n95 mask?

CDC is gone. I will not longer be sharing CDC guidance.
The CDC has been captured.

CDC statement on measles vaccination:

“The decision to vaccinate is a personal one. People should consult with their healthcare provider to understand their options to get a vaccine and should be informed about the potential risks and benefits associated with vaccines.”
NEW: The move — along with the CDC’s explanation — is a sign that the nation’s top public health agency may be falling in line under HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a longtime critic of vaccines.

My N95 mask is like any article of clothing, like a hat, for example. I take it with me and use it when entering public indoor spaces. It's so simple, so easy. It's very effective protection against ALL AIRBORNE DISEASES. There are many circulating, not just COVID. Masks work.

Do we know who made this headline change?

Yet another minimizer whose ego can't handle recognizing 👉we were right about everything👈.
What’s interesting is that they intentionally changed it to this headline using “covid alarmists” after the article had already been published. Here’s a side by side comparison (credit to @catinthehat.bsky.social), with the original headline on the left (still shows up on a Google search too).

She’s essentially saying it here, but worth saying explicitly that communities impacted by extreme weather and fires now include virtually everywhere in this country.
Today we learned of more DOGE firings at NOAA. Last week, my coastal communities told me they feared this day would come.

Our coastal, rural, and wildfire impacted communities are less safe today because of these cuts. They need to be reversed, especially so close to wildfire season.

NOAA is an absolute mess, and it’ll be worse tomorrow. Please help us. There have already been over 1,000 terminations. It’s not just layoffs—Elon Musk and his staffers are trying to completely dismantle us. Today, there were tons of firings, and more are coming tomorrow.

Just heard from a friend who is a true hero veteran. His company was destroyed in 30 days by the VA when they canceled 5 contracts without notice. 23 Americans mostly veterans out of work and a veteran owned small business destroyed. For nothing. They're dismantling the VA not "reforming" it.

Today is a devastating reminder that infectious diseases don’t care what your ‘beliefs’ are. Everyone is likely to be affected directly or indirectly. Serious challenges require serious people at the helm. Protect your loved ones. Educate. Advocate. The cost of not doing so will be too much to bear.

The first measles death in the US in a decade -- the tragic, preventable death of a child whose parents chose not to protect them with vaccination -- should spark an immediate nation-wide campaign to ensure all children are protected against preventable diseases. Anything less is unconscionable.

It’s always a punch to the gut to see direct steps that will increase preventable deaths. With the recent measles death and hampering of vaccine production, wearing a mask is another tool that I hope people will reconsider trying again. We need to use all the tools when some are taken away.

If you haven't been masking NOW is a really good time to start.

It's one of the easiest things you can do to protect other people even if you don't care about yourself.

You spread illness BEFORE you show symptoms.

Why are Republican states trying to overturn a pillar of disability rights?
