HUGE fail.

This week, I introduced the bipartisan SAW Act which would prohibit the use of snowmobiles to kill wolves and other species on federal lands. As others work to loosen protections, it is more important than ever that we stand together as responsible stewards of our federal lands and wildlife.

This is a step in the right direction that Democrats should’ve taken a long time ago.

That said, Schedule III ≠ legal. We have a long way to go to make sure cannabis consumers and businesses can (responsibly) thrive.

Good news — The Columbia River Clean-Up Act passed through the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee today! This is a huge step in making sure our community partners have federal funding and resources to clean-up pollution in the Columbia River Basin.

Providing care and advice is a doctor’s job, taking care of your children is a parent’s duty. Let’s keep it that way.

The power to declare war rests with Congress, and any declaration of war needs to be brought to Congress to be debated and voted on. I proudly voted for the War Powers Resolution bills on the floor today.

Thank you to the more than 7,200 Oregonians that tuned into my telephone town hall last night! In a time of uncertainty and division, there’s nothing better than gathering as a community (even virtually!)

1/ ICYMI: The Roseburg State Veterans Home has repeatedly been overlooked and last week, I testified before the Veterans Affairs Committee to make it CLEAR that rural veterans cannot wait any longer for critical care that is rightfully theirs.

If you’re wondering - I am not surprised by today’s news of the oil tanker being seized off of Venezuela’s coast.
I didn't know 'America First' meant sending our kids to die for oil in another foreign war.

President Trump's strikes in the Caribbean & his impending war in Venezuela are illegal without a vote by Congress. We the People deserve a say in if our kids get sent to die in a repeat of the Iraq War.

My Democratic colleagues and I will not stand for inhumane conditions, lack of oversight, and detention without probable cause in billionaire-backed ICE detention centers.

It is wrong. It is racist. It is unconstitutional.
More than two dozen Members of Congress showed up to my fifth shadow hearing on the horrific conditions in Trump’s ICE detention centers.

Thank you to everyone who spoke up — we will continue to shine a light on this injustice and inhumanity.

It’s official: The Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act passed the House. Now, it’s on the way to the President’s desk.

We’re not leaving anyone behind.
Today, I urged my colleagues to support the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act, an essential lifeline for rural communities across my district. It's already passed the Senate - stay tuned for an update as it goes through the House tonight.
