When it comes to wintry weather, the Maritimes has certainly dipped a toe into the water with chilly temperatures and snow.
However, Old Man Winter is about to push us into the pool head first — and the water will be frigid.

What troubles me most is not that they are lying after being involved in a war crime but that 1) the US military remains silent when a probable war crime took place, and 2) this scuttles the hope some Canadians had that Trump's military would disobey illegal orders against Canada.

Two comments on the alleged "double tap" of a drug boat by the US military.
1. It's in the DoD War Manual that it is illegal: "orders to fire upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal"
2. Trump and Hegseth both say they did not issue an order to kill survivors. I simply do not believe them.
⚖️ DoD Law of War Manual, page 1075:

"For example, orders to fire upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal."

Looking at the possible #snow storm on #Wednesday for #NovaScotia.
We know: there will be a fairly potent low-pressure system then.
We don't know:
1) Where exactly will it track?
2) How deep will the cold air be?
This matters A LOT for who gets snow and who gets rain. #NSwx #NBwx #NLwx #PEwx

If you have seen the potential #snow storm for Wednesday in Atlantic Canada in the model runs, and want a deeper dive into what's going on here, Tomer's analysis is worth a read. It's centered on New England, but the big picture is the same.

Slightly technical analysis on the discussion re: Tuesday's snowstorm 🧵

While it is technically correct to say that the progressive upper-level flow & lack of a high pressure to the north are unfavorable for an I-95 snowstorm, reality is often more nuanced & context-dependent.

Yes, I did see the overnight model runs for next Wednesday, and no, I'm not going to post them.
It's too far out to be certain of anything: at this time range, all I can say is that there's a chance that the first major snowfall of the season for N.S. will be around that time. #NSwx #HaliSky

Confirmed world record. #Hurricane #Melissa produced a wind gust reading of 252mph. A Hurricane Hunter dropsonde recorded this gust at 657 feet above the sea, breaking the old record of Typhoon Megi (248 mph in 2010). #wx

Trump's economy is being held up by a massive AI bubble.

A recent study found that of 300 companies that owned generative AI tools, 95% reported zero return on their investments.

We will not entertain a bailout of these companies should this bubble pop.

On Nov 17 at 9AM the city of Toronto will raise the Palestinian flag. The city often raises flags to respect the multicultural nature of the city.
It is non-partisan.
Don't let the Israeli lobby intimidate people in Toronto.
Show up and say no to genocide.

Fine today. Teens in much of the south & west.
Rain (snow at first parts NB) develops tonight. Rain at times heavy Mon night-Tues & strong SE winds Fundy & Atl coasts. Models are indicating chances over 100mm (flooding) along Atl coast. (EU has risk over S Shore. CDN has risk E shore-CB).
Stay tuned

Morning model runs for #MELISSA.
There's a good chance that the centre of the storm makes landfall in Eastern Newfoundland, but it's not a lock.
If the storm remains offshore, impacts will be mostly rain across Atlantic Canada, but a landfall could bring high winds to the Avalon. #NLStorm #NSStorm

This is what I was talking about. Assuming this verifies, this will be a big win for the Canadian model and its ensembles. #NLStorm
It's been interesting watching what the various models do with the remnants of #Melissa - the Canadian GDPS has been persistent with a western track through Newfoundland. All other models took it east, but are now bending toward the GDPS solution, and taking aim at St. John's early Sun morning.

In case there is any confusion, while Hallowe’en decorations are at risk during the rain and wind, I am suggesting fine weather for trick & treating for much of the Maritimes. PEI & E Mainland remains iffy at first, but ok after 7pm. CB improves after 8-9pm. See pics on previous post
Fine day ahead. A band of rain at times heavy crosses the Maritimes on Halloween. Heaviest rain (60+mm) parts Atlantic coast with SE gusts 60-80km/h.
The rain ends, wind briefly subsides, and temps remain mild over much NB, central(HFX), & W NS for trick & treating; then a bit later further N & E.

Morning look at Hurricane #MELISSA.
Not the perfect Category 5 monster it was a couple days ago, but still a powerful hurricane with winds to 170 km/h.
It's on its way towards #Newfoundland now, where it'll either brush past or make landfall as a hurricane-strength post-tropical cyclone. #NLStorm
