“Each [poem] embodies a kind of melancholy existentialism; reflections on the world around us that feel oddly both universal and yet specific.”

A lovely, and thoughtful, review of I Know The Way Out on @brokenfrontier.bsky.social

Come see us at Edinburgh’s #RadicalBookFair on Sunday!

We’re looking forward to meeting local activists and talking about using socialist journalism to support our movements.
The #RadicalBookFair is as much about community as it is about books - a space for connection, for learning, for taking action.

So Sunday we host stalls from grassroots groups, local initiatives, bookish collaborators & activist campaigns, come meet the people making change on your doorstep!

There are so many AHP creators at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social this year we couldn't fit them all on one map graphic!
Make sure you save both these maps so you can find them all on the 15th/16th!

I had a really good chat with @chrislaumanson.bsky.social and @tomhumberstone.com at TAGS Festival last weekend about what we, the independent comic community, can do to push our scene forward. A lot of what we discussed is UK- or world-wide rather than just pertinent to Scotland but I'll recap:

Edinburgh Zine Fair is tomorrow! I spent all month writing and making a thing that couldn't possibly be finished in time. I regret nothing. Come along and enjoy new lino cuts, old Shenks and awkward conversation! #edinburghzinefair

I caught Tom's talk on AI and art this weekend. Very interesting and some good tips. I think it could have easily turned into a 4 hour 'coping with AI' support session if we'd had time. I can recommend the the accompanying Luddite collection. We've been doing them wrong all these years!

When I see defences of what Badenoch describes as “rip off degrees”, I worry people try and argue on her terms. Learning is an intrinsic value in itself. A well (and broadly) educated society is sign of a healthy one. This 15 year old Stewart Lee clip sums it up perfectly: youtu.be/Nlo1ry2k3Ls

My dearest Martha,

This evening we shot pepper balls at a man clothed in a frog costume. It had no effect. He continued to dance and taunt us. We retreated before he could charge our lines and commit unspeakable horrors against our boys. I fear this war will never end.

Yours,

Ok so somehow the survey is still open. Maybe the Audience Agency - like a ghost with unfinished business - are waiting for one specific creator to fill it in, and when that is done finally they can rest??

Who is this person? Is it you? Are you the special final one? Please, let them have peace!
🚨FINAL FEW DAYS!🚨

The UK Comics Creator Survey will close forever at midnight on Monday 6th! Have you submitted your response yet? Or were you, like me*, waiting for the last minute? The last minute is now, lads! Get in there!
