People don't talk about it, but a huge part of learning any new skill is mental. I've been struggling with painting, and tonight I had like four bad starts that I had to scrap, but I knew I had to push through it to get to at least something I was okay with or I'd be hesitant to paint tomorrow

Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

the longer it's been, the angrier I'm getting about this. The change in her character added unnecessary external drama at the cost of a sweet, surprising character and also echoes this weird race thing about asian moms focusing on career at the expense of their child.
man the heated rivalry show did yuna hollander (one of my fave characters) so dirty

not all queer stories have to be coming out, and seeing a story that was not about coming out being changed into one that is, is frustrating
i thought the finale of heated rivalry was lacking, and that the show was framed to fit into a format of what we think a queer story should be rather than a traditional romance, and i think it makes for a worse show

a big part of getting myself to stop biting my nails was getting obsessed with nail care, and i wonder if that is a core part of building new habits lol

Hey #MeetTheWebcomic! I make Keeping Time, a longform drama that's ostensibly a band romance between former friends, but might be better categorized as an adult coming-of-age story where that self discovery is painful and hard-fought.

I'll just gently say, re: Least Favorite Writing Advice, that a lot of examples I've seen are—while basic!—actually pretty useful and good. Dismissal of them feels rooted in narrow interpretations, misunderstanding the breadth of application, and/or treating said advice as law rather than guidance.
