I've been hearing from a lot of creators of late that the non-licensed space for comics has been painful to operate in, and today on SKTCHD, I finally wrote about it with insight from a bevy of creators.

It is, as one creator put it, "a lot."

'Translating Chaucer is a strange and humbling act. It’s like listening through centuries of static to a voice that is both foreign and familiar, comic and solemn, earnest and ironic.'

Jonathan Fruoco writes about his experience translating Chaucer for our Meet a Medievalist Maker blogpost series👇

A church definitely worth 10 euros, Santa Croce. Including the graves of michelangelo and Galileo and Dante! Just a shame the Giotto chapel is under restoration.

An amazing thing about Florence is how much art there is about outside to hang out with for free. Not just decorative arts (though cool) but also fine art!

On a less whiny note, here's a great church I went to for free today

One thing I am not enjoying about Florence is how expensive it is to visit churches. Imo, every city gets one, maybe two you get to charge for. Otherwise, churches should be free and you can put your particularly good mosaic or painting behind a curtain & charge 3 euro to see it like elsewhere.

Italy is hilarious because there will be a church with statues in it, and it'll be Jesus then Mary then Dante
