probably one of my most controversial takes, but I think the ultra customisation of media (i.e. tailored algorithms on TikTok) instead of general experiences (catching Eastenders on BBC 1 at 7:30) means we’re all super atomised with no collectiveness & more selfish
you see this everywhere. pervasive cultural attitude that we are owed everything but owe nothing in return.

You can fill in this nightmare AI form slightly more quickly than it appears because the answer to most of it is “enforce existing copyright legislation” and “don’t steal” and “property is property” or “this is my job, fuck off.” You can cut and paste a lot.
If you’re a creator or work in the creative industries or otherwise have a heart, then please add your voice to this UK Gov consultation on AI and Copyright. I said ‘freelance’ for company and ‘unsure’ for super-granular legal stuff but made my voice heard. You can too. www.gov.uk/government/c...
Copyright and Artificial Intelligence
This consultation seeks views on how the government can ensure the UK’s legal framework for AI and copyright supports the UK creative industries and AI sector together.

Mary Tyler Moore accidentally nailed a perfect trick shot in *The Dick Van Dyke Show* (1962)—on the FIRST take.

It was supposed to be done by a pro, but she shocked everyone and pulled it off herself. Absolute legend. 🎱✨

I'm really sad about this from a historical/nostalgic point of view. But there are a few people saying "it's all about money these days", to which I would offer that these are literally fucking markets.

Cold War - Has a significant fixation on nuclear weaponry and/or modern media. Has strong feelings about the Fallout franchise. Neurodivergent.

Peloponnesian War - classics major who was very defensive about it at the time.
