This is another Perth, Western Aus #spider. Tasmania has lots of this common peacock spider, Maratus pavonis, but the Tas version is much rounder and a lot smaller. They are equally cute though. This male had decided to wander through the kitchen of our flat. #invertebrates
Face on with a jumping spider. You can see 4 perfect green shiny eyes on a rusty coloured head. The 2 central eyes are about double the size of the side eyes. The palps are white and floofy. THE other legs are grey with dark bands on the joints. It's totally cute, not scary. This shows the back of the spider and you can see an elongate abdomen with a tan background and a startling orange (nearly) oval line with an orange dot in the centre. Also as a highlight to the orange pattern is a slightly smaller metallic blue repeat to the pattern. This glam pattern is flattened and extended when they do their fancy dance to the female. Two smaller black eyes are visible on the head.

Have made a few studies using ink in my new sketchbook, watching bulbuls, sunbirds, and flowerpeckers. Watching birds from my window and balcony soothes my soul and is something I anticipate each day. The occasional koel song is delightful to my ears. This year, it seems like spring is early, and my neighboring trees started flowering in full flow. Their bright colors are a sight to behold! The Neeru Kayi mara buds remind me of my childhood days of squirting them on friends, their powerful odor, color and the victims’ reactions are such days to relive again. A beautiful yellow mushroom grows out of moss and fir needles. Its stipe is a lemony yellow. Its cap is bright yellow around the edges and dark at the top. Its cap edges are slightly serrated.

i really dont know if its good advice, but as soon as i gave myself permission to never improve at art if i didnt feel like it, I started improving bc the pressure was off. i was doing studies for fun. i was trying new things. i was GROWING because of it. and the best part is I love drawing again.

Best lighthouses I saw in Malta.
lighthouse in a stone circle with stone pathway to it, with a red top like a rubber nipple, but more like the rubber nipples in ren & stimpy when the horse said call the police than like you know feeding a baby with a bottle. A similar lighthouse to the red one earlier, but with a green nipple at the top. a squat, girthy lighthouse on a kinda cliff not a lighthouse but I'm sure that boat seeing that weird three pronged fish sculpture thought oh yeah that's the shore i should avoid that also i'm a boat i don't have a brain so i probably will beach myself right next to that thing because i just don't know any better
