Hi! Many things are bad you can still have a great day. Try to plan something fun offline like a walk outside, picking up a favorite pastry, going to a local farmer's market or a nap. You still deserve joy and time to rest and recover.

Can I tell you about someone else whose followers included adult content creators
Axios tried to bust James Talarico for following adult content creators on Instagram and I'm genuinely impressed by his campaign's response

hi! tomorrow is my birthday.
i’ve written a children’s book about how land is indigenous land and a young readers book about the history of boarding schools.
now i’m writing a YA indigenous solarpunk novel about 100 years after #landback
for my birthday, i’m asking for help doing that.

One problem I’ve noticed in myself seeing all these open web projects people are releasing on atproto is that I’m so burned and jaded on cloud software I literally don’t trust anyone else to run an online service I would put my information into anymore (part from surveillance, part enshittification)

not always, actually.
fat and thin people need food. chosen food, tasty food, food nutritious for your particular body, food of plenty.
a dearth of food does not always cause weight loss.
i've studied fatness for over 4 decades. glib comments about fatness are often wrong.

Yeah, that tends to happen when people can't afford to eat.

No, we do not yet know which flights are cancelled due to the FAA's haphazardly (not at all?) planned 10% airspace reduction.
So far, this is the messaging from every airline:

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

Well, this is quite bad.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

got to see OBEX over the weekend as a part of denver film fest
in addition to being a rare piece of media that grasps the deep horror of both technology *and* cicadas (it’s very weird and quite good!), it was also made by one of the minds behind one of the best videos on the internet:

neither here nor there but this is exactly the sort of petty grievance that helped push me out of the conservatism I was raised on. all the bellyaching and rage that someone might… have something to eat? why would I care?
