It's hilarious that Trump always 100% agrees with the last person he happened to speak to. The problem is that 99.9% of the time, the last person he spoke to is either a professional bullshitter or some deranged moron whose entire concept of politics was derived from right wing facebook hoaxes

It just dawned on me how few times Trump has sat down for a non-adversarial face to face with someone who is intelligent and well-spoken. Like, he's surrounded by the biggest circus of buffoons and absolute fools that he's literally star struck by a normal guy.
Q: Stefanik has called Mamdani a 'jihadist.' Do you think you're standing next to a jihadist right now?

TRUMP: No, I don't. I met with a man who's a very rational person

I’m sorry I just found out that in 1379, as in, 650 years ago, a baby girl was born in Yorkshire and named Diot Coke

I have this idea for a biology lesson where students make a DnD like character sheet for a sperm. Like, what alleles does it have, does it carry the X or Y, roll for speed, etc.

And then do like a mini dungeon crawl where they have to find the egg.

This is a bad idea right?

I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

I’m kind of surprised at the physical revulsion I feel seeing these photos. I thought I was pretty immune to the bullshit firehouse but taking an excavator to the people’s house is literally sickening to me. I know it’s just a building, but it’s ours. Not his. Impeach his ass already!

This cool dude paid me a visit while doing the dishes. It’s some species of Anaxipha cricket I believe. Sent me down a fun rabbit hole reading this absolutely delightful paper on the genus. I love it when an authors enthusiasm is so apparent. 🐜🧪

We have fully entered the “terrorist” phase of toddler world. Everything meal time, trip the store is a hostage negotiation (my sanity is the hostage)

This moment from our latest episode with science writer @edyong209.bsky.social is 🔥

We asked Ed — how do we talk up the benefits of science in the face of government cuts? He told us that's the wrong approach. 🧪

Yes but where has the hand wringing been for Yemen or any of the other places we “just blow people up”?
Rand Paul: "The reason we have trials & we don't automatically assume guilt is what if we make a mistake and they happen to be people fleeing the Venezuelan dictator? ... off our coast it isn't our policy just to blow people up ... even the worst people in our country, they still get a trial."

‪This was a fun story to write.

Last year, environmental police in Brazil stumbled upon thousands of climbing bumblebee catfish. Scientists know almost nothing about this species, which only became known to science in 2017. 🧪🌿🌎
Researchers have filmed thousands of climbing catfish scaling waterfalls, providing a rare insight into the daring migration of an enigmatic fish.
