And thus ends #over/under. A fantastic mess of creativity and chaos stapled on to a large scale wargame.
There's lots of posts already about the high stakes politics, the betrayals and the intrigue, but for me it was about the smaller interactions. The goings on in the blocks, the bars, the shops.

As for the kids who stole the entire treat bucket (after we'd left it out while we ate), I hope they ate all of it at once, with appropriate consequences.

One thing did reoccur last night though: Older teens pushing the boundaries of what "Bare minimum costume" means to get sweets. One group of lads I wasn't sure if they were in costume or had just spilled some ketchup.

Much quieter mood for Halloween last night than last year. Seemed like a lot less effort by a lot of people, including us. I think it might reflect a lot of larger factors effecting everyone.

Saturnalia is an experience. It's a very strange one, and tricky to reccomend but I found it's uniqueness charming and it's story, and specifically the way it delivers it, compelling. If you are at all intrigued by it there's a good chance it is for you.

Just gave the demo for Cronos: The New Dawn a go. I was skeptical because the last Bloober game I played was Layers of Fear, which I thought was very pretty, with some nice attention to detail, but otherwise a kind of rubbish, tedious haunted house. 🧵

Another thing i've noticed about #over/under is how much it deviates from the canon of the module. That's good! It can cause some confusion, since there are established module "truths" that might not be true here, but it levels out to a more player built and evolving experience.

Stuff on this scald can only happen with a collective buy in to the fiction. I do think it highlights the importance of some degree of safety tools/checking in though, since it can overwhelm. It's ok to break immersion to check.

When I started out, I sleepily spewed out a prayer for the in-game religion. 4 people did musical versions of it. It was canonised as official scripture, and now people are making art about how it inspires them.
I'm tearing up.

There's always been a lot of symbolism etc in these shows, which I'm not so good at picking up on myself, so here's a great thread on it.
