Porco Rosso. Perfect movie.
In honor of Hayao Miyazaki's birthday, what's your favorite Studio Ghibli film? Doesn't have to be the one you think is "the best," just the one that nestled in your heart. Mine is Howl's Moving Castle.

there should be a "good morning" feed on bluesky where you're not immediately thrown headfirst into the worst news imaginable while you're still half asleep

It feels like the (very valid) criticism of X/Twitter and Grok today means a bit less coming from accounts who pay Elon Musk for the blue check mark on the very platform they're criticizing.

Ended 2025 by eating Nutella out of the jar with a spoon. Kicked off 2026 by feeling sick to my stomach.

The Times Square ball drop is a nice bit of pageantry, but the “real” New Year is of course at midnight Central Time

Weakest season of the five and probably not one I'll look back on super fondly, but still kind of bittersweet to see it end. A top show at its peak.
The new season of Stranger Things is shockingly terrible, even by Netflix standards. This thing should've died two seasons ago.

So glad for all the decisions in my life which have led me to being a Nebraska alum. What a treat this football team has been for my mental health.

Bumped into Jason Schwartzman in NYC while he was walking his dog years ago. Told him that I liked his dog and he glared at me without a word. Tiny man.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

How much are you going to pay doctors?

Which current hospitals get shut down ?

What happens if doctors opt out of the system ? Who is going to invest in new curative therapies. You ?

How much in taxes pr year do you think it's possible to collect if you took every penny from billionaires?
Half the amount that everyone currently pays could provide universal healthcare. Private health companies don’t need to exist. Eliminate them. And use your collective buying power and economies of scale to get it done. Every cent of their profit is healthcare denied.

Tremendously sad news, absolutely loved him in The Wire.
I was just at the gym watching a The Wire s2 episode, and came back to this awful news. Ransone was incredible in that season — so believable as the screw-up determined to live down to everyone's low opinion of him. And great in almost everything else I saw him do. RIP.
