In my case it took 5 1/2 years to get a visa to move to Canada, and I was lucky to have the time and resources.
It’s cute when non-Americans think we can just leave the country and move somewhere else to escape all this, as if their governments haven’t also made their immigration processes just as cruel and slow.

It's good to use the resources at hand to fight because sometimes you win. Also, I keep thinking of the period after this man was killed and how a group of people tried to impose a new social reality. It didn't work. This too is a lesson.

Nice argument, but I have already depicted myself as the decisive female squirrel and you as the feeble male squirrel whose purpose is unclear

Polymarket is refusing to pay out bets with over $10.5M in wagers that the U.S. would “invade” Venezuela. The company has argued that what happened last week isn’t an invasion because the U.S. military doesn’t control Venezuela.

While they have a point, this is such a gross and distasteful business

Microsoft's CEO wants us to stop calling AI garbage Slop.

I agree!

Instead of Slop, we should call it Nadella, to show him our appreciation of all he's done for us!

The problem with watermarking images as AI is not all images will be watermarked given old phones, homebrew AI models, etc.

This fosters a risky expectation that unlabeled content is authentic. It’s safer to assume unmarked images are AI than to trust that the absence of a watermark proves reality.

Adam Mosseri offered a notably candid assessment on how AI is upending Instagram.

Turning off Grok doesn’t stop it from generating non consensual intimate images of you. Blocking Grok, watermarking images, or explicitly denying consent also fail. There is no way to opt out of being sexually harassed by the platform itself.

you know how you shut grok down?

fine x $500k for every instance of created nonconsensual porn

arrest the x corporate board for every instance of generated csam

laws exist
A functional country would shut Grok down permanently. Like, immediately. Right now. Last week. Whatever. Just flip the switch. Obviously.
