YEP. Big yep. It’s been the opposite of a chilling effect. Each place the feds go, the locals are MORE willing to fight back.
also, every city has learned from the last. bigger networks, faster response times, more effective tactics

I'm sorry but I am simply not getting enough brain damage from this website.

If I don't start getting more engagement on here I'll have to keep using the gravity drive from Event Horizon.

Word got out that ICE was setting up base in town before heading up to terrorize Portland and Lewiston and almost 150 people turned out on short notice in freezing temps to stand outside the hotel and let them know ICE isn’t welcome here

The reservation’s allegedly been cancelled.

Someone angrily posted on Nextdoor that a local restaurant posted anti-ICE signage and the post got shared to Reddit so the parking lot has been full and inside has been standing room only all day lol

Group of middle-to-retirement age women came into the restaurant I was getting lunch at just down the street from the ICE church in St. Paul, and asked the guy behind the counter about the general strike, and if they could help in any way. They had literature and everything. It ruled.

When people get a glimpse of what ordinary people in Minneapolis are doing, I think they may not be aware that it is the culmination of lessons learned from last year’s invasions of other cities & from organizing that occurred locally in 2020 www.liberalcurrents.com/we-have-orga...

I live in a particularly vulnerable community in the Philadelphia area. Whatever happens here, the people of Minnesota have been an inspiration.

People here are outside patrolling their neighborhoods in this, trying to keep their neighbors safe from lawless armed masked goons. Armed with whistles and vests, they are essentially fighting a war against their own government and its ethnic cleansing campaign.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.
