Faces total collapse? Faces?

It's about as much use as a kerosene laced fireguard at the moment.

Short version @mrjamesob.bsky.social Trump didn't think there was any evidence in the Epstein files. Maybe it's arrogance, maybe dementia.

But once he and his puppeteers saw it- they knew it would be game over if published.

Currently the Greens appear too good to be true- pro LGBT, Disability discourse of nothing about us without us and reiterating that accessibility is a net good (as anyone on the tube with heavy luggage can attest). Arguing for non-nuclear renewable energy.
Trans people deserve so much better than this establishment, everyone in it and everyone propping it up. If I behaved like that I’d be ashamed of myself.

We held our nose and voted for Starmer because it was a necessary shove to the overton window. @mrjamesob.bsky.social

Starmer is not much better than a Tory and Labs who think Wes Streeting is a good replacement have not been paying attention to the Greens.

This is why web 1.0 was so engaging. It was full of people more interested in the subject than good design.

Was it able to get their passion out there- yes, and that was good enough. Can we do that again? Oh yes. I've got a preferred method that I'm happy to run people through if they want.
We're socialized to constantly apologize for being too outwardly excited about things, but this world is so full of terror and misery that I'd rather see those bursts of light and passion shine through the cracks wherever you can find them.

I have a problem with the "young adult" branding. There isn't a beat in Full Tilt Boogie that makes me think I shouldn't be reading/enjoying this or question if it belongs with the other offerings of 2000AD. Although it started in Regened- it doesn't have to be there.
We'd recommend Full Tilt Boogie as "a young adult graphic novel old adults can relish". Alex De Campi pulls together the joy of SF adventure and Eduardo Ocaña draws it beautifully. @2000ad.bsky.social

Getting back into using Zotero for study. Hopefully setting up for group collaboration.

it is a wonderful tool that automatically creates citations for any PDF you upload and mark in the software/web interface. So you can basically slap postits and highlights all over it. Then export those.

I think this is indicative of the population. If you know a trans person, you are not threatened and there's a quiet acceptance. If you don't, you probably don't think about it, unless thr raging bigots make it headline news.
🏊‍♀️The women who swim at Kenwood Ladies Pond have already made their decision.

In 2024, almost 900 members voted to keep their trans-inclusive policy - a policy that has worked peacefully since 2019.

Now, a small campaign group is seeking to overturn that democratic decision through the courts.

The phrase DEI is imported foreign racism @mrjamesob.bsky.social It's an American dogwhistle and any brit using it should be treated with suspicion.

If only someone with an interest in maps or unfinished London stuff would do a comedic dive into this. Maybe with a surreal and faintly disturbing sponsored advert. @jayforeman.bsky.social
London's Ringways are a whole network of unbuilt urban motorways threaded through the capital. There's never been a complete map of them, not even one made by their designers, until now. Today we're publishing the Ringways Map from @roads.org.uk to let you see in the city that London nearly became.

ChatGPT simply suggests the most probable next word. It's useless for information. Has resulted in increased workload for others. It isn't good on anything factual.

It has no data analysis ability. Financial advice from Clippy is ridiculous. @mrjamesob.bsky.social

Anything honorary should be removed @mrjamesob.bsky.social these are things that were given outsode of achievements. Medals earned should be reviewed - it's way too likely that results were fudged because of his position. Did Andrew get it because he was flying while Royal?

This is something that needs to be addressed- it's a universal problem.

Corporations double dip on taxes, employ less than the bare minimum (how fucked are you when a colleague is sick or on holiday) and then blame the workers for bad financial decisions.
“There’s too many Americans on SNAP!”

Yes there are. Too many corporations refuse to pay a living wage.

Huge companyies are encouraging their employees to apply for SNAP because they don’t pay them enough to survive.

The government encourages this & then blames the poor.

There are Israel support charities advertising on YouTube... WTF.

Don't want embargos and boycotts? Your government can stop committing genocide.

This is why I don't quote dunk on TERFs. My friends don't need to see that bullshit on their timeline, TERFs don't need amplification.

The world is a better place when those voices are unheard.
My perhaps controversial assessment is that when you share the propaganda of your enemies to call it out or to mock it… you’re still spreading their propaganda and maybe doing exactly what they hope you’ll do.

I'm thinking of subjecting the eldest to this. It stands up, but I don't know how much of that is due to the context and sense memory.

The eldest is now old enough to watch horror... The problem is I am a child of the 80s and therefore have no trustworthy baseline for "It didn't do me any harm".

Also shocked rhat Nightmare on Elm Street has been downrared to a 15.
