Anyone trying to go to PAXU, don't forget about Amtrak! William H. Gray is a beautiful station and you're going to have a much more comfortable ride into Philly

This is a good article, worth reading.

Gigantic SUVs are a public health threat. Why don’t we treat them like one?

The anti-smoking playbook is worth studying and learning from, and is completely applicable to oversized cars.

The anti-tobacco playbook could help turn the US public against their beloved oversized cars.

"There's too much actual play, there are too many game jams, there are too many solo games, there are too many SRDs, there are too many indie games on steam, there are too many Sopranos, there are too many books

there are too many people making stuff for reasons that I don't personally understand"

Notable that FIRE (@thefireorg.bsky.social) filed an amicus in support of bullying trans youth. This is why trans people don't trust your transphobic organization, @aricohn.com.

To be clear: if we are talking about audiences for AP being outstripped by the number of participants, that was a convo half a decade ago.

It remains true that AP has always been made for many reasons, & for that reason cannot be understood as a single scene, industry, or community of practice.

Here's Part Two of my recent interview with the ever-thoughtful @colewehrle.bsky.social . Expect rich ruminations on historical board games, the violation of player agency, and games that are meant to feel bad on the first playthrough: www.wargamer.com/molly-house/...
Board game auteur Cole Wehrle says "Molly House is the most controversial game I've worked on"
"A lot of the core board game audience is playing to master a system or demonstrate some kind of skill - that's not how I play games."

I'm not sure if anyone actually cares about the 80s D&D cartoon, but it's kind of charming that the company still makes them a core part of their marketing.

This fall has been an extra slow one for small businesses out here, and the tea house is $3.7k shy of where we need to be to make rent before late fees hit this month.

All this to say, if you have some tea shopping to do or friends to point our way today, we'd sure appreciate it!

I think a lot about the story Carl Reiner told: he’d have been a sewing machine repairman if not for a free WPA drama class. That led to other theater work, to Sid Caesar, to Mel Brooks, and all the rest. All because of one free class paid for by a government that felt the arts were worth teaching.
you ever think about the works progress administration? I sure do. I wish that was a thing now. I would be so glad to contribute my labor to like. A random ass local bridge

There is something deeply broken about an economy that creates trillionaires while people get buried under the cost of living and 42 million go hungry. The ultra-rich should realize that my Billionaires Income Tax, aimed at ensuring they pay their fair share, represents the moderate path forward.
