Also, not every garage band is trying to compete with the stadium act, just like not every actual play is trying to compete with critical role. You can't just assume everyone is trying to make a buck

Musicians are absolutely competing on the same platforms. Hell, most entertainment is now all competing because of how social media has flattened the way people access things.

Totally fine! Many people paint for themselves, write for themselves, etc etc. If you want to get an audience it takes work and sometimes creative compromise, but theres also NOTHING wrong with doing it at the level you're able

How many other shows are you watching? What's working for them? What can you emulate in your own way? And again, there's no need to even try to be big. It can be a fun hobby as much as anything else

You don't compete or you work extra hard to stand out. It's the same with podcasts. If you just enjoy it and can be fine with a few hundred viewers max, then you should do it.
