I have cultural concerns about anyone who won't do the absolute minimum to show support for the marginalised when participating in a round in their sport specifically designed to show support for said marginalised people...
Namely, I'm concerned that they lack basic decency #nzpol
"In line with the league's voluntary participation policy to wear the patch, the players discussed the matter as a team," the club said. "Some players raised religious and cultural concerns about wearing the insignia."

There were 159,000 written submissions on the Regulatory Standards Bill (on top of over 23,000 submissions last year) - numbers that are second only to the Treaty Principles Bill in NZ’s history.

More than 98% of public submissions were opposed.

There’s a word for this, but it’s not democracy.

No one wants to work long hours just to afford to live, Nicola. Kiwis being forced to work more hours is the opposite of a good thing, unless you value profits over people, shareholders over safety, or corporations over country. Fuck off with your bullshit. #nzpol

I'm now getting page suggestions for Flat Earth groups, anti-vage pages and other such drivel

This is what I expected from the government, but it's incredibly disappointing that Autism New Zealand should go along with it. We need to make "regular" schools cater to neurodivergent students — which will benefit everyone! — not segregate difference.

Everywhere it’s the same story.

Wind power is lowering the electricity prices, whereas gas power is increasing them.

Here in New Zealand, expensive fossil gas generation keeps our electricity prices unnecessarily high.

Had a few RW bullshit 'what if its not sunny' comments and talking about brownouts

We've had those with fossil fuels

We get 75% of our energy from massive hydro and geo

Grid storage exists

We massively under utilize solar

Any more renewable saves water from hydro for dry years

#nzpol
*This* is our grid on renewable power

~$1.50 per MWh
98% renewable

Its only when we throw in fossil fuels it gets expensive

The energy cartel keep fossil fuels in the mix on purpose

This is a *political* problem and one we could solve easily
