The thing is that the Dem response to Trump has ranged from paralysis to open collaboration. They have surrendered at every turn, usually in advance. No one thinks they can just stop him, but they've yet to signal they even want to.
A lot of people are mad at Schumer for saying this. But he's right. Democrats don't control a single branch of government and they can't pass anything. Only Republicans can rein in Trump because they control both chambers of Congress. Democrats have no cards to play here.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

you know one thing dems do not need and have never needed overwhelming majorities to do is to stop talking about republicans as their respectable colleagues who they hope will do the right thing and the fever will break any minute now, and to start talking about them as enemies who must be defeated

nothing infuriates the average paid political commentator more than the fact that every 15 year old baby leftist doing earnestly naive posts about 'Amerikkka' at any point in the last 30 years has better analysis with a sounder grounding in the facts than they do.

Their messaging is so fucking incoherent. Maduro was an illegitimate leader who lost in 2024, which is why we're replacing him with his VP instead of the person who won in 2024. We did this to stop fentanyl, which is why he's indicted for cocaine.
We're also occupying Venezuela via Zoom call.

guys, "the judges at the ICC are being sanctioned by the USA and can't access their iphones or bank accounts" and "why aren't any countries banning twitter or prosecuting elon musk for owning a site that manufactures CSAM" stories are the same story

That's pretty dope. People are cool. Humans are clever af sometimes. Anyway. Think we're gonna win this one. It'll take awhile and I am worried and scared for the future but people gonna keep on pushing back and surviving and helping each other
