Being up-to-date on your vaccinations is good patriotism. Curbing and stopping infectious disease is being a good neighbor. It's being a good family member to those you're close to and a good stranger to everyone else in world.

Schedule your vaccines today, right now, if you're not up to date.
As the Trump administration is firing thousands of NIH workers — including 10% of the CDC team, the measles outbreak in Gaines County, Texas has suddenly doubled to at least 48 cases. The outbreak has grown from 24 to 48 cases within the last three days.

All cases are in unvaccinated people or…

We just had a neighborhood potluck and invited families from our school and some of our kin.

We had a rollicking festival in the sunshine and the honmun is strengthened.

I think about how when they sang La Marseillaise they were still in the midst of a war they did not know they were going to win.
You ever stop and think about CASABLANCA? You ever stop and think about "Welcome back to the fight, this time, I know our side will win?" You ever think about a bar full of people defiantly singing La Marseillaise, played by a soundstage full of Jewish refugees? You ever think about CASABLANCA??????

E-bikes can actually make a huge difference for mobility.

You’re probably seeing e-motorcycles or people who are just assholes. I’d rather an asshole on an e-bike than driving a multi-ton vehicle,
but that’s just me.

There's lots of potential, but anyone hoping to get seniors and the disabled riding must first understand the concerns and barriers.

There is another issue - #HiViz isn’t actually that effective (particularly yellow against a green background). It’s classic “we need to do something and this is something” and does nothing about the hierarchy of risk

You cannot make this up: the California legislator who introduced this bill, Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, is an attorney specializing in environmental law, who also worked with Republicans in a failed attempt to become the first blue state to pass Texas-style online age verification laws
A California legislator wants to require a license plate to, get this, ride an e-bike.

Not only does this bill fail to keep cyclists safe (the cars are the problem, not the bikes!) but it incentivizes more dangerous and polluting modes of transit.

Oppose the bill here:
Say NO to Mandatory E-Bike License Plates and Registrations - Bike East Bay
Tell the state legislature that increased regulation on legal e-bikes is counter-productive to traffic safety, sustainability, and equity goals.

Elon Musk genuinely has to be regarded as one of history’s pre-eminent mass murderers
HORRIFYING -
Dismantling USAID & cancelling >80% of aid caused ~750,000 deaths by mid-2025

🧸Most were children
⌛️ Many died within the first year

😰 Preventable deaths were mainly from:
- HIV, TB, malaria
- Maternal & fetal deaths
- Malnutrition

finally! the hottest energy drink!
I'm not going to link to the post/shop, but I just saw someone who has made a stainless steel tumbler look like a nuclear rod, complete with trefoil and a "Drop and Run" warning.

This is the STUPIDEST THING I have seen thus far this year. It is literally INVITING federal agencies to come say hi.

If anyone lives in the UK, I could use footage from around: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds.

It can be as simple as pointing your phone at a skyline, high street, or transit vehicle for 10 seconds a few different times.
Do you live in a city that doesn’t get covered that much by urbanist YouTube?

Or at least a city that *I* haven’t covered that much?

I’m trying to create a crowd-sourced footage archive to let urbanist YouTube cover more places!

Interested in: skylines, buses, trains, bikes, housing, etc.
I need your help to make these videos
