While I'm posting old pictures from around the city

Looking up through the gap in a cluster of towers from the courtyard area between them. Wires zigzag between the buildings. There's a fun sense of verticality and spaces built over other spaces.

Looking down an outdoor with tightly-packed storefronts. A building is partly covering the walkway with angled flying buttresses holding it up forming a sort of brutalist-future arcade (in the architectural sense)

One thing I like about this city is that sometimes it feels like I'm in Portland and sometimes I feel like I'm in Mexico. And both parts are cool and interesting

A photo down a slightly wide street in Córdoba, AR. Lots of trees and plants line the street, providing ample shade and greenery. There are pedestrianized areas and storefronts, but some are partially hidden by plants. It sorta feels like Portland, Oregon.

A photo down a different, much narrower street in Córdoba, AR. The emphasis of this picture is on the dry, densely-built feeling of it. A lot of wires zigzag overhead midway down the street. Most of the buildings are one or two stories, with a few six-story buildings. Very little vegetation is present except in the distant background. A lot of the buildings are somewhat dilapidated or graffitied. The sidewalks are very narrow.

This has also been a productive year for my political development, mainly in that it killed my last remaining attachment to liberalism and my belief in the US as a symbol of progress, while fostering a newfound sense solidarity with Latin America and the global south in general! Which is positive!
