In Super Mario Galaxy, the stars on the letters of the logo spell "u r mr gay", while for the movie it says "he mr gay". This is because you are watching Mario, not playing him.

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

Holy shit, just learned about the typewriter art of Montserrat Alberich Escardívol, a Catalan typist. Using an extra wide typewriter and 180 color ribbons, she built up elaborate images from simple characters like 'm' and '.' and ';'. Here is her typewritten painting of the Cathedral of Barcelona.

I only just put two and two together- Light mode UI themes serve an actual utility in that they improve contrast and visibility outdoors and in bright rooms, allowing you to have your backlight turned down lower than with dark colors while still being readable

Our leading news organizations turned a cache of ultimately-innocuous emails into a scandal-coded weeklong series of front page stories leading into the 2016 election. If they do not cover the "emails from notorious pedophile implication the President" emails with the same fervor, it's curious!

I really wish things in gaming didn't suck this hard right now.

Companies openly or secretly using genAI, studios getting bought by shitty groups.

Hell even some of your PC parts are made by the worst people.

It blows, man.

CinemaSins Brain has infected so many people in the industry now, I swear

If you’re this hung up on continuity for JAMES BOND of all characters, the perpetually 34 year old dude who’s fought steel teeth guys in space and already been rebooted at least once, your mind is a desert
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I think that all of us need to talk about how the Blender Foundation is hinting at adding AI integration to Blender in the future. Right now it's little more than proposition in their new Labs project, but that's the best time to catch it and make sure it doesn't grow into a reality.

Let this strengthen our resolve and serve as a reminder that nobody in the democratic party leadership should be trusted and that every single one of those fuckwads is just as responsible for where we are now as the Republicans whose boots they're licking. Power rests with the people who grant it.

“individual employees asked to change behavior in response to catastrophic mistakes made by their high-level leadership over the past 3-7 years” really feels like the overarching story of the current times
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

The government shutdown should continue for as long as necessary to hamstring fascists but at the same time it's incredibly important to do mutual aid to make up for the absence of needed government assistance. If you're in the US, give food and do volunteer work as much as possible.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
