I just don’t see how we can pretend even for a moment that anything involving our federal government is remotely normal when the president is covering up his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Like, what are we doing here

If Republicans want Democrats to support a budget bill, then they must negotiate with us.

Senate Democrats must hold the line to save health care for Americans, not trade that away for an empty promise.

I’m a NO on this shutdown deal and urge Senate Democrats to vote no.

I HATE how NYT uses the word "crackdown." It implies enforcement against something illegal but which has been overlooked for whatever reason. A "crackdown" on lax seatbelt use or a "crackdown" on tax cheats. One does not "crack down" on lawful political expression. One seeks to stifle or oppress it.

Inflation rose by 22.6% from 2019-2024.

In that same period, the 100 lowest-paying corporations paid their CEOs 34.7% more.

Worker pay didn't even keep up with the rate of inflation.

Those corporate tax breaks will never, ever, ever trickle down.

WE ARE BEING SCAMMED.

Now we have to hear how the hijab is “oppression” and war is “liberation” — from the same people who voted to strip women of the right to control their own bodies. Pls STFU, forever.

Why do people keep saying Black people will be ‘next,’ when WE never stopped being targeted. Black people already experience whatever abuse this country heaps on other marginalized groups. This may be your first time witnessing it or experiencing it firsthand, but not ours.

THE PENTAGON BUDGET JUST HIT A TRILLION DOLLARS.

Not a single pundit from either political party said “how are we going to pay for it?!”

Don’t dare tell us we cannot ALL have healthcare, housing, and education.

I've been away from working in journalism for half a decade now, but it seems to me that it's a pretty big red flag that every time a story breaks, and somebody asks POTUS about it, he has no idea what is going on. There's probably a story there, but golly, who could possibly tell it? A reporter?

I want to pay my taxes. I don't ever complain about taxes funding basic services for the American people. I feel absolutely sick today knowing our taxes this year are 1. Buying spots in torture gulags for innocent men and 2 lining the pockets of billionaires while our communities suffer.
