This is just a government sanctioned proud boy, a cosplay warrior with fantasies of “taking back the country” from anyone who doesn’t look like them. They deputized the guys that invade Downtown Portland and Capitol Hill Seattle for fun and harass the homeless
Fucking surreal that people dressed like this and carrying assault rifles are permitted to kidnap people off our streets

Tear gas is banned in international warfare, yet classified as a “riot control agent” that law enforcement can use for crowd control.

“It just doesn’t work well, and it hits the weakest people the most, and causes the most complications in them,” an anesthesiology professor at Duke University said.
Tear Gas Is Way More Dangerous Than Police Let On
In the middle of a respiratory pandemic, law enforcement agencies have used tear gas in especially dangerous ways. The chemical agent also seeps into homes, contaminates food, furniture, skin and surf...

this is trump murdering these people.

he's deliberately gutted federal disaster response because he is ideologically opposed to helping people in need.
So many things have already gone wrong.
So many more things are going to go wrong.
Tens of thousands of people across Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana have gone a week without power or heat after a brutal ice storm. At least three dozen people have died in connection with the storm, officials have said.

It was a march. Folks were largely just walking past. And so many of them got gassed with a toxic abortifacient that could affect them for years to come
Hand-drawn attempt at showing where people were when ICE attacked

Half or more of the march had already passed by and departed the vicinity

Half still lined up before ice

This was the kind of treatment the union activists got today from Oregon’s largest unions alongside coalitions like @jwjpdx.bsky.social. They fired projectiles and injured many demonstrators and broke out neighbors windows. Gas for a half dozen miles in each direction. #iceout

Shout out to the ice officers in Portland for trying to tear gas my seven year old today.
Big brave boys! Warfighters!

There’s kids in this crowd, nurses, teachers. Teargas can irreparably harm a person’s reproductive health.

Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

insisting on calling every mass day of protest or one-day boycott a "general strike" is not the move. it's good to see people rallying around the cause, it matters, but if you want to be part of a large-scale labor action that shuts down the gears of capital, start by unionizing your workplace!!!

Today @councilorgreen.bsky.social and I sent a letter to Mayor Wilson urging the Executive Branch to use their administrative powers to protect Portlanders from the Federal Government. City council can pass policy but that policy is only as effective as the Executive Branch is willing to execute it.
