I guess the difference is that Spanberger has gratuitously attacked Mamdani, and Mamdani has not done the same to Spanberger. How sincere could Spanberger be about a big tent strategy?
We need Democratic candidates of all kinds in order to be able to win everywhere. The answer to “which is the future of the Democratic Party” has to be “all of it, and then some.”
i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist

The Democratic gubernatorial nominee in VA is effectively calling the Democratic mayoral nominee in NYC a liar on the eve of close, contentious, and crucial elections for both of them. What a joke this party often is. No wonder Republicans win so much.
Abigail Spanberger takes a swipe at Mamdani, saying "maybe he should be a Democrat" and that his campaign promises are dishonest.
