Again it’s not good that the most prominent leaders of the party keep insisting it’s a trap to talk about “identity” when the Trump administration is pushing white supremacy.
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25
Pete Buttigieg critiques Democrats for focus on identity
The former U.S. transportation secretary said the Democratic Party should focus more on issues gripping the country, such as health care and housing affordability.

This isn't "internal recriminations." It's voters expressing overwhelming opposition to what the people they elected to represent them are doing, and anyone--either in journalism or politics--who characterizes it as infighting is either not seeing and hearing what's right in front of them or lying.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Also, and I say this with my whole chest: do not give establishment Dems a dime of your money. Not a CENT. Give that money to mutual aid, to food pantries, to your library, to the guy on your street corner. All of them will put that money to better use.

Do not give politicians your money.

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Why has the government been closed at all if Senate Dems cave now? Didn't they say that they could not go along with throwing millions of people off health care?

What's materially changed? A *promise* is not action. ALSO fascists lie and I've been told by some Senate Dems that the GOP is fascist.

Caving now means they literally did it for nothing and caused harm to people for nothing. Just absolute failure on every level.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

It was a rejection of the entire administration and Dems should see this as a signal to become an actual opposition party. On everything. You don't stop the shutdown. You don't approve another appointee. You do nothing at all. The voters saved you, not the other way around. LEARN TO LEAD.
On a call with reporters, DNC chair Ken Martin responds to JD Vance claiming Dems only won big last night because races were in blue states.

"Well that's bullshit. We won in red counties, blue counties, purple counties," Martin says. And it was all "a rejection of Trump."

Democrats are currently ahead in 63 (!!!) races in the Virginia House of Delegates.

If this holds, it would be one of the largest state legislature swings in the last 4 years.

Its an absolute bloodbath for anti-trans Republicans.

Zohran Mamdani wins!

He ran on an unabashedly pro-transgender platform, stood up for the most vulnerable, as so many have pushed for the Democratic Party to abandon trans people in order to win.

Major win for trans New Yorkers - he has vowed for intense resistance to anti-trans Trump policies.

We literally do disagree about this, though. Some politicians want to take food from children and some politicians don't. Pretending this "isn't political" just allows the child-starving ghouls to get away with it.

Tell people who supports the *political program* to feed children and who doesn't!
