Destabilization of reality in the US is about to reach surreal heights. Protect your mind. Monitor stress levels. Do not doomscroll--it does not help. Be selective about when and how long you expose your brain to this. Do what you can when you can.

If you stopped at a deserted rest area to use the restroom and found it filled with turtles who all silently, balefully, turned their heads to look at you, how many turtles would it take to scare you off? That number is your Uncanny Rest-Area Restroom Turtle Number.

I just felt a tiny ant crawling on my hand and impulsively blew it onto the carpet instead of killing it, and now I’m sad as I imagine it wandering aimlessly through an endless forest of identical blue trees, slowly losing its mind.

This is indeed! First dog I had that I found on the streets and lived till she was 17. My first lesson about change that we cannot avoid, no matter how strongly we love someone. Death sucks but she lives on through my love for her.
i have been SO thoroughly enjoying Sorry We're Closed, replaying it for the different endings, and there is a question that has been gnawing at me for @alamodegames.bsky.social .... is this a dev dog? 🥺🥺

ROMEO AND JULIET

HARD ❌

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.

EASY ✅

It was a shitshow

The number one advice any & every writing professional can & will give you is this:

DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SUCK.

You have spent years reading books, watching movies & TV, developing taste to know good from bad. NO ONE GETS TO READ YOUR WRITING UNTIL YOU LET THEM. Trust your taste & write fearlessly.

i no longer believe Death Stranding was a Hideo Kojima “prediction.” It was “protection.”

Despite using social media interfaces with “likes,” the game is built as an anti-conflict algorithm where people are FORCED to support each other. He wanted to help.
