One of the things I saw when I reported on Ilhan Omar in Minneapolis is that her team runs robust constituent services, she holds regular town halls, she shows up for all the things. It never gets reported on when nationals parachute into town.
I’m one of the few Dems in NYC who even RUNS a general election campaign, and the only one who ran a robust field op. We ran ahead of top of the ticket.
Excellence matters. A lot of folks w/ poor campaign fundamentals are now blaming “wokism” but haven’t held a town hall or knocked a door all cycle

too many cis people have internalized the past decade of transphobia about how if they make a single minor mistake towards a trans person we'll go supernova meanwhile most trans people i know are hesitant to correct anyone on anything because they don't want to make a thing out of it.

So, some folks seems confused about what assimilation/compliance are and aren't. Let's use a metaphor of trying to escape a bad place by climbing over a wall to get to safety.
Over the next few months, we're gonna see some queer/trans folks go back into the closet/detransition for their own safety, especially in rural areas. This is not the same as assimilation or compliance, and these folks are not "traitors." This is camouflage. This is strategy.
