Democrats! Start telling people why your programs are Good, Actually!
I looked it up once. SNAP takes 2% of the US budget and 93% of the money goes to the actual poor people instead of to the bureaucracy. So it's kind of like if you paid $1000 in taxes, you spent $20 on the poor of which they got to keep $18.60, and you spent $166.66 on the military.
SNAP is probably the most effective federal dollar we spend in terms of long term domestic economic outcomes.

that isn’t why you should support it; you should support it because it is a moral imperative to feed the hungry.

but it’s why even a growth-oriented ghoul shouldn’t oppose it.

I hadn't seen this mentioned elsewhere: it was the first round fired that exploded prematurely, after which no further rounds were fired, which implies this could have been much worse. Thankful for the Marine Corps leaders who halted the exercise.

What went wrong when Marines fired over Interstate 5? California leaders demand answers
California lawmakers are demanding answers after a live fire event over Camp Pendleton Saturday led to a misfire that rained shrapnel on I-5.

Context is king:
With other men, probably a 1 or 2 at best. I'm not small, but I am very slight and don't have any interest in physical confrontation.
With women, I'd guess most men are a 7 baseline, so that's probably where I am, regardless of any other considerations.

Just no excuse. This was petty, rash, and probably intended to "own the libs."

This fucking guy.
Seriously.
This.
Fucking.
Guy.
NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.

Let this moment be a wakeup call to stop taking some of the far-left seriously.

Mamdani isn't good enough for them. Nor is Rep. AOC. Nor is Sen. Sanders. No one is good enough for them.

Ordered something on eBay last Friday. Est del date: Wed Oct 1. On Monday, it arrived in Los Angeles. Tuesday it was "in transit to next facility, arriving on time." Wednesday, it was in Charlotte NC.
I live 45 minutes outside LA. I'll be very impressed if USPS gets this from NC to me in 36 hours.

I had a dream a week or two back in which I had a job that was interesting, engaging, steadily busy without being hectic, required no "hustle" or collaboration, and was just generally fulfilling.
Then I woke up.

Also, US Government officials pressuring mega-corps to fire comedians they don't like.
"cancel culture" was an overblown thing where some people got fired for sexually harassing their employees and others got yelled at on Twitter. The conservative version, which some claim as an inevitable counterbalance, is doxxing & death threats for making fun of self-proclaimed white supremacists.

This is the saddest metaphor for this admin. Claiming that they're adding gold to these spaces when everyone knows that it's cheap plastic crap from Home Depot. All surface bluster with no actual values underneath, other than the illusion of wealth and prosperity.
Trump: “Some of the highest quality 24 Karat Gold used in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room of the White House. Foreign Leaders, and everyone else, “freak out” when they see the quality and beauty. Best Oval Office ever, in terms of success and look!!! President DJT”

Nine Inch Nail's just released soundtrack album for Tron: Ares is everything I hoped for. A massive electronic assault on the senses. Too bad Disney are such cowardly shits that I won't be seeing the movie itself.

Reposting this because it's a great, concise explanation of the madness we've all descended into. The news media need to get on board with this understanding.

Reposting this just because it's cool.
I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.
