Hitting me hard. In Vienna my grandmother hid my mother from Russian soldiers known for raping and worse during the occupation, after the Nazis did the same in WWII. My grandfather had been forced to flee to Poland because he refused to join the Nazi party. He walked back a skeleton after the war.

Thanks for sharing this critical info. We've resorted to doing just this. Especially after the last election. Delay DeJoy screwed us over more than once. Typical of thr Trump era, Repugs are forcing agencies & services to fail so they can "justify" privatizing everything for their own greed.
The regime is actively working to make living by a deadline harder. Taxes, elections, healthcare, bills. All affected by this ridiculous policy. See next post for more information.

This sounds as illegal as everything else this regime imposes on us.
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.
