Hitting me hard. In Vienna my grandmother hid my mother from Russian soldiers known for raping and worse during the occupation, after the Nazis did the same in WWII. My grandfather had been forced to flee to Poland because he refused to join the Nazi party. He walked back a skeleton after the war.

She did not respond.

Kind of wild that while food assistance was withheld from millions of families, one Trump-supporting billionaire (Ellison) saw his net worth grow more this year than the entire SNAP budget. And the YTD gains of the other four richest men would’ve fully covered salaries for all 2M federal employees.

Reality check.
The market for health care isn’t at all like the market for apples or oranges. It’s life-and-death, with info gaps, emergencies, and insurance market failures. That’s why we regulate and subsidize. Pretending the market works isn't a plan, just as a “plan in 2 weeks” isn’t a plan.
