This still doesn't top the 8-6 game I took my daughter to for her first game back in 2019.

7-5 is pretty ridiculous though!
December 28, 2025 at 2:50 AM
7-5 it is.

At least no goalie suffers on this one.
December 28, 2025 at 2:47 AM
Is a 6-5 final score ever particularly likely? I'd think not.
December 28, 2025 at 2:43 AM
PP lol.

Solid effort.

*and you get a point, and you get a point, and YOU get a point."

Goalies loving this lol.

6-5.

Just elite defending.
December 28, 2025 at 2:29 AM
This game has been un good defensively. LoL.

Just so many dangerous plays right through the slot.
December 28, 2025 at 2:23 AM
Yeah that was pretty all around.
December 28, 2025 at 1:47 AM
Gotta be honest. I'm ok with the Leafs top 9 right now.

Mainly because I like the 3rd line a bit more than their other attempts.

And having McMann gives Matthews a shooter to work off of that isn't Nylander.

This is a *very* lengthy commitment to a guy who is having an insanely impactful season - but had a very limited track record of doing anything comparable prior.

I have a very hard time considering the US collection of biometric data by visitors a massive violation of my rights.

For a few reasons:

1) I already surrendered it when I was a student there on an F1-visa.

2) Other countries across the planet do the same thing (Canada, EU, China, India all do).

American Exceptionalism is imagining that they had invented some new magical distinct form of human society that wasn't made up of "humans" despite all evidence that the same horrible tendencies exhibited by humanity everywhere else remained very present in America.

TOR has abysmal odds of qualifying for the playoffs and it is now as much about their abysmal remaining schedule as it is them being garbage.

3 games in 4 nights vs OTT, DET and NJD, starting with a home and road b2b vs the Sens and Wings.

If they want into the race they need *regulation wins*.

Glad the Timmins Tornado is back with the Leafs again. This makes me smile.

Ok so, I'm seeing this sort of skewing towards blaming Treliving for the Leafs current state... And I sincerely wonder what people would have done differently than Treliving - aware of the pressures and costs involved with everything.

I must have missed all the articles that objected to everything?

I mean, multiple public sources have been pointing out the issues around getting AM34 going.

They could very rapidly adapt any of the many options suggested:

• give him more space high in the OZ
• play him with a better defensive RW (Maccelli/Cowan > Domi)
• Make him the PP focal point

etc.

EV's actually increase the rate of tire wear due to their increased weight (heavy batteries).

Ironically the western shift to reduce GHG emissions but sustain private autonomy of travel (by prioritizing private EVs over mass transit forms) will *increase* the prevalence of micro-plastics.

I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).
Lay article attached:
One of the biggest microplastic pollution sources isn’t straws or grocery bags – it’s your tires
Every few years, the tires on your car wear thin and need to be replaced. But where does that lost tire material go? The answer, unfortunately, is often waterways, where the tiny microplastic particle...

This applies to Canada also.

Almost hit 20% in the final quarter of 2024, before dropping below 10% in each of Q1-Q3 of 2025.

Sliding backwards.

It's funny how us parochial Americans generally seem to perceive that the EV revolution is stalling or reversing when in fact it's accelerating rapidly worldwide. 25% of cars sold globally in 2025 were EVs!

It's mostly just the US that's being left behind
