last time we hit over 15% was 17% growth in 1943. So we just need to start a world war

For what it’s worth both Crockett and Talarico seem statistically equally viable in the head to head matchups

Bazzite OS for Steam gaming! It’s an image-based immutable distro meaning it’s super stable and has basically worked out of the box for me. As long as you don’t play any of the games with unsupported anticheat, I can’t imagine running windows over it.
Bazzite - The operating system for the next generation of gamers
Bazzite makes gaming and everyday use smoother and simpler across desktop PCs, handhelds, tablets, and home theater PCs.

I can’t even click to open the Start Menu. Seems bad!

My Windows key just stopped working. No worries, I’m old enough to remember the Windows+R run shortcut to open Notepad that way.

Notepad takes 10 seconds to load. What are we doing here.
I am losing my mind at work. So many basic functionalities of Windows 11 have been just breaking down for months and it’s getting worse. This can’t be sustainable for Microsoft.

“I am neurodivergent so please have a bit more grace when reading my posts” does not mean I am entitled to infinite grace or that I can justify bad behavior! We are neurodivergent, we are not above consequences for our actions.

it is always a balancing act between “my neurodivergence is a contributing reason behind my societally suboptimal behavior” and “my neurodivergence is THE reason behind it”

It is a filter for *how* I arrive at my views, but I should never mistake that for it being the *source* of my views.

Reconstruction as the second founding and the Civil Rights movement as the third is a pretty appealing idea, ending corporate money in elections and securing the rights of the Americans-in-all-but-citizenship-status-only (immigrants) would maybe be worthy of being called a fourth founding
I’m reading a book a month this year and I finished this one on the last day of January!

A good but difficult read that elaborated on many things I’ve learned over the years. It highlighted how ambitious the goals of Reconstruction were and just how brutal the backlash that betrayed it could be.

Taxing the ultra rich won’t be enough to pay for, say, universal healthcare because it is just *that* expensive; middle earners will also have to pay higher taxes à la Europe to do that sustainably. But if I pay more in taxes to pay less net in premiums, sure I’ll do that! (And I am sub-100k)

If I’ve learned anything, it’s that we should be maximalist in our project to achieve racial/social/economic justice, and to achieve as much as possible *quickly* while public opinion is in a transformational mood. And that all traitors must be held accountable. Thanks to @profmsinha.bsky.social

I want to believe this is due to some white depolarization but HD60 has a few towns that are pretty high % black so it might just be a turnout thing.

we should insitute the Chinese hukou system purely for the purposes of keeping regressive reactionaries out of the cities. in this article I will discuss why suspending freedom of movement domestically is good, actually

Me: hmm this piece of equipment has a local retailer in Seattle, I should get it locally instead of online. It’s sold at this place called Ballard Industrial
