I used to just post about safe streets, but there's a lot going on right now. I'm worried about the climate, growing fascism, injustice, and my friends in Palestine. Also will be giving my observations of the US after living in Greece for 10 months.
I went to a new gym class today, and the teacher was lifting the weights while narrating everything in English *and* American Sign Language. Some people are truly amazing at their jobs.

The reason the federal government had to kill the people, withhold the evidence, and light your constitutional rights on fire is to inflict endless misery on people we should all recognize as like our own mothers and grandmothers.

Every time the government deregulates a public health feature - such as today's news about clean air rules - just remember that this is meant to add to your plate, as an individual. It's no longer the government's problem, it's yours. This is a risk transfer. It it reduces your ability to resist.
This kind of messaging is intended to drown moms in research, risk, and responsibility.

The goal is to keep them so anxious and so busy that they can't work for pay--especially not in high-powered "mens" jobs--or get involved in any kind of efforts to push for progressive change.

The word for this is not “ceasefire”.

Why do the fascists want to keep you hooked on fossil fuels? Because it keeps them in power. If you don't need their fossil fuels, they lose a lot of that power. True for Putin, Trump and the Princes.

This resonates.

“Moral injury and institutional betrayal aren’t abstract concepts. They are visceral, existential challenges that result from our experience of a shift in our worldview. The experience of a slow-motion dismantling of our social trust has a specific pattern: [pattern described.]”

Lots of important info here. The part about the “arriving alien” distinction has really changed ICE’s current mandate, and needs to be viewed in context (where it is wrong). Plus the stories. I hate to use the words concentration camps, but it would be worse to pretend they’re not that.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”
