First known tree hug. Know zero about film but have collected for ~38 yrs. Pre-Code love. Dead--but I'm not dead yet--language familiarity. Demi-horticulturalist. Car-free commuting since 1977. Forever masker. Will write Alt Text for food.

this is as unfailing a litmus test as your view of henry kissinger
it really is amazing how well the “are you pro Ukraine and pro Palestine” thing works as a basic moral litmus test
the test of “are you pro-Ukraine AND pro-Palestine?” remains the GOAT crank-catcher test

Movie gripe: everybody writing that Wuthering Heights is "Victorian." The book ends around 1802, Vicki ascends in 1837. So it's Georgian, and Empire, like Bridgerton. Way cooler!

It’s 1950 and the House of Representatives includes JFK, FDR Jr and Richard Nixon.
Their dining room serves reasonably priced diner food with lots of beer as well as Bromo/Alka Seltzer for when shady decisions give them upset stomachs

Once again I've read a food piece that normalizes the recent hegemony of "recipes" in a way that makes me want to tear my hair out.
That the last 20 years of internet has convinced people that cooking skill doesn't matter, that the recipe bears all the weight, and must be "foolproof"? Infuriating.
