First known tree hug. Know zero about film but have collected for ~38 yrs. Pre-Code love. Dead--but I'm not dead yet--language familiarity. Demi-horticulturalist. Car-free commuting since 1977. Will write Alt Text for food.
The Doll, 1962.
No ghosts, no gore. Just a tragically isolated guy who brings home a mannequin as a companion. Some of the finer cobwebs of the human mind on display here.
On tubi in the US.

Re-watching. The only word is prescient.
Formerly on Netflix, now on Prime in the US.

It really is a film from 1979.
But yeah.

Asking my Hummel figurine collection if this is an okay get-up for NYE.
I give up; it's really my girl Kay Francis as my other girl Spot White in WB's classic Mandalay '34. Is this a #filmsky thing? Much more in Alt Text.

That's about right.

This looks like the right film. But most shots from it on imdb are dismal vhs rips. Only a few studio stills, so I proclaim it's hard to find!

#tubi Today's disaster film sure gave the Hays Code some kidney kicks: Joseph Losey's (look this guy up, now) 1951 The Prowler. If you're a fan of Double Indemnity '44 or The Postman Always Rings Twice '46, then why haven't you watched this?? And why isn't Chekov's gun in that chandelier?
