The transformational nature of IBX is completely understated right now. It will open up travel patterns in NYC that simply do not exist in any efficient manner right now.
Transit BlueSky gets deep into the weeds of IBX* in the replies to this:

Thanks to the Illinois’ massive investment in transit, Chicago has a bright transit future, with the dawn coming next year:
—50% increase in every-10-min bus routes to 30 citywide
—8-minute midday headways on rail lines
—24-hour Orange Line service (Red & Blue already have it)
—50% increase in every-10-min bus routes to 30 citywide

Acting CTA President Nora Leerhsen’s ambitious plan would also expand — from 20 to 30 routes — the so-called “Frequent Bus Network” that provides service “every ten minutes or better” between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.

I will say what’s interesting about these buildings is that they are aping prewar industrial architecture more than residential—there actually really aren’t many multifamily buildings that look like this from the early 20th century in Chicago
Imo Chicago infill architects are getting pretty good at these historicist brick facades

I'm too lazy/out of practice/don't have a license at home to do this properly but close enough for posting work: I overlaid The City's new general election map over their primary map, and turned the general to 70% opacity. This produces four colors.

This one is better than most but living in Ithaca has made me conclude that there is a distinct Great Lakes vibe that unites upstate New York and parts of the upper Midwest and separates them from the rest of their regions
This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.

Unpopular opinion: Paratransit for disabled persons is liberating for its users but also fantastically expensive for transit agencies. "Free" is not a realistic fare, at least not outside a context where the whole network is free, which no big city in the world does. denverite.com/2025/09/30/r...

"We lived up to our commitment," he says.
