There's something spiteful and contemptuous about the way Netflix refuses to give a halfway decent theatrical release to creatively ambitious films by brand-name directors. Like they're trying to make sure we all know that they hate doing it.

So, whenever I go on a big DW Griffith bashing, I typically get a few responses that miss the point.

First, "I DON'T BELIEVE IN CENSORSHIP, WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO BAN THE FILM!" which is a strawman argument. I never said I wanted it banned. I said that I want it out of the canon.
