Ain’t I been telling ya
@flyingrodent.bsky.social I know you often say they’d rather fly the plane into the mountain than give up power and it seems hyperbole and yet….

I've seen the video. It's an execution.
Initial report is that two observers got into a shoving match with eight agents, one observer was wrestled to the ground, and then an ICE agent pulled out a sidearm and shot the man on the ground five times.

Such a pity for Starmer. After capitulating and capitulating he said "ooh steady on" to Greenland, and now.. what? Trump's turned on him? So he debased himself for nothing? If only he could have seen that coming somehow.

I've seen this described as a form of Gell-man Amnesia, but I think there's something else. LLMs *are* (now) quite good at coding, so coders have the opposite effect, and are more likely to think gen AI can do everything.
it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

Speedrun Iraq is so much simpler: the American president saying "we're doing this for their oil" and the British PM explaining "we're America's lapdog, we follow whatever they say"
Keir Starmer: "I constantly remind myself that 24/7 our defence, our security & our intelligent relationship with the US matters probably more than any other relationship we've got in the world and it would not be in our national interest to weaken that in any way"

Remember: It is a mystery to every journalist and pundit why this Labour government are so roundly and universally detested.
Govt minister Darren Jones is asked what element of international law gives the US the right to abduct the leader of another country.

Jones says he's not qualified to answer that question and he's not a spokesperson for the US administration.

I knew Starmer's first response would be "fast moving situation, we only have the statement from the president of the United States. I can't give any opinions yet, all very uncertain"

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

I wrote about NYT, CNN, and ABC’s casual acceptance that US dictates and Trump’s arbitrary use of American violence against Venezuela is somehow a form of “international” law. It’s not, and US media should stop implying and/or outright lying that it is.
US Media Rushes to Manufacture Legal Legitimacy for Trump’s Venezuela Oil Tanker Piracy
Venezuela oil exports are not “black market” and US sanctions are not “international sanctions.” Why does our media keep saying otherwise?
